Area rug cleaning
The rug under the dining table holds more than the carpet around it.
Wool, synthetic, and hand-knotted rugs cleaned on-site or picked up for a full submersion wash.
- Dry soil removed first - most of what is in a rug is grit, not stain
- pH-correct chemistry for wool so dyes do not bleed
- Fringe cleaned by hand
- Pickup and full wash available for hand-knotted and antique rugs
Same four steps, every single job
Inspect and photograph
Fiber identified, existing wear and dye instability documented before we start.
Dust
Dry soil removed first. On a well-used rug this is pounds of grit.
Wash
On-site extraction for synthetics, or pickup and submersion wash for wool and hand-knotted.
Dry flat and groom
Dried flat with airflow, pile groomed, fringe combed straight.
What people ask about rugs
Synthetic rugs, yes. Wool and hand-knotted come back to the shop where they can be washed and dried properly.
We dye-test every rug first. If a rug is unstable we tell you before cleaning it, not after.
Usually 7 to 10 days from pickup to delivery, depending on the rug.
Most customers add one of these
Bundling on the same visit is cheaper than a second trip, and we will tell you if you do not need it.
Carpet cleaning
Hot water extraction that pulls out the grit holding dirt in the fibers, not just the surface stain.
